I've hooked up the spectrometer to an IR modified D200 DSLR so I get
(potentially) a scale that runs from 350 nm out to at least 1100 nm.

It's good to have such a wide range, particularly down to UV, but bear in
mind
that most commercial vendors rarely go below 380nm and above 700-750nm,
towards the IR.

By the above I of course mean, "commercial vendors of lighting products".

Vendors of spectrographs go into any range.
