intervention analysis

Hi I'm from portugal and I'm doing a phd in epidemiology I'm a nurse
and have a degree in Statistics too. Could anyone tel me please where
can i find the math in the back of intervention analysis, i want to
understand the algoritm. I'm trying to use ITSM 2000 or autobox but is
too expensive for me because i'm a student.
