Very true, bruce, but the answer in almost any program would be fine.
Maybe it was a bit to much to post it in 2 groups, but i was quite

William, you posted this same message in the SPSS newsgroup. There, it
made some sense, because it was clear you were asking about how to do it
in SPSS. In sci.stat.consult, nobody would know that you were asking
about how to do it in SPSS unless you said so. See my response in that
