give me some suggestions on selecting the models of generalized linear model and generalized linear mixed model

Dear friends,
I first used the generalized linear model to analyze my data, but now
i found another model: generalized linear mixed model ,which i'm not
familiar. Could anybody tell me the main difference between them and
give me some suggestions on which model i should use.
My response variable: count data;
My independent variables: four continual variables and two categoracal
variables;
My aim is to predict the count data with independent variables.
