Re: ANOVA or Chi Square?




Neither non-random selection nor small sample size (which isn't that
small) suggest chi-square is superior to ANOVA. Except for the
dichotomous DV ANOVA is almost certainly superior to chi-square here as
it uses more information than chi-square.

Unequal group size is a slight irritant here, but as the smallest n is
25 ANOVA is probably a sensible approach. A broader issue is whether
you raelly have 5 DVs or whether you'd like to model the realtionships
between the five variables - in which case multiple regression might be
appropraite.
