Not sure you can draw a conclusion, it could be that the "white" areas
at the bottom are due to more extreme heat.


Is it correct to assume that if the "natural" aerodynamic position with
an undetached orbital module would be with the orbital module down ? If
so, can we conclude that this would be because the orbital module is
denser than the soyuz capsule and thus wants to be below the capsule ?

Wouldn't the orbital module have borne the most extreme heat at least
initially when it was still intact ? Once the orbital module would have
lost most of its weight, wouldn't the ship then naturally assume its
normal orientation ?

Based on the image in the ftp: picture, can any conclusion be made on
whether the orbital module eventually detached ? is it possible that an
undetached orbital module would have burned off so cleanly without
leaving any docking hardware attached to the capsule ?

Would the docking aparatus of the orbital module be made of the same
materials as the docking module of the capsule, or would they use much
lighter metals for it ?

Or did a good poart of the orbital module survived attached, and was
manualle removed/pried off in order to let crew egress, and the picture
we are seing was taken after it was removed ?

As I understand it the OM detached properly. It was the Service
Module (the skirt) that stayed attached causing the incorrect
orientation.
