MMOD shielding would be an issue. Some sort of Zvezda-like bolt-on
MMOD shields might be sufficient, but Shuttle is going to be stretched
getting ISS elements into orbit in the remaining flights as it is,
nevermind adding more big structures to take up.

At the very least, NASA should consider rotating MPLMs between
resupply flights, leaving an MPLM at the station between Shuttle
flights. That would free the Station crew to load and unload the MPLM
at their leisure, instead of trying to get it all done while at the
same time doing assembly and maintenance work while the Shuttle is
present.
Of course, we have to wait for Node 2 before this is possible.
That would open the door to leaving one or more MPLM at the Station
when Shuttle folds.
