new crispy ones at $2.50 a lb are not really 11 apples... only in very
abstract and useless terms ...you couldnt parse the 11 into separate
batches and sell each batch for the same amount.


You are absolutely right except you can not prove that 2+9=11.

It is not a theorem. It is a naming convention. In other words if you
have 2 republicans in the room and another 9 join them than the
quantity of republicans in the room is called 11. By the same token if
you ask how many human beings are in the room the answer is 0.
