Larry Ellison's new yacht...


(this is sci career related since the job is CEO and the topic area is computer software, therefore science).

WSJ a couple days ago had an article on this. His existing yacht (400+ feet long), he says is too big. when he comes into ports, he has to tie up where the oil tankers are, the cargo ships, etc., because his yacht is too big for the yacht marinas. So, the new yacht is going to be 260 feet long and going to be built in Europe.

See what you can get away with as a CEO? With all that infinite wisdom (but mostly infinite wealth, which correlates with infinite ego), that comes from infinite brains, you don't make decisions based on calling up your favorite yacht marinas and ask them what is the largest size you can handle, then order your yacht to be made one foot shorter, you just pick out a big number and have the yacht made and forget the details.

Oh, yes, the lastest biggest big yacht is being made for a oil sheik in Saudi Arabia; going to be over 500 feet in length.

P.S. in the P.H. department (Marco, you're not supposed to be reading this), she's selling her house (3000 SF on a 7000SF lot, for 2.7 mil), and she's pissed off all her neighbors who are complaining about the traffic from the papperazi's coming through all the time, and even papperazi helicopters buzzing overhead. She wants to move where there is more privacy.
