A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

Behind every successful woman there is a man.

Ah, so you're not familiar with the relationship between fish and bicycles,
are you?

The saying "a woman needs a man like a fish needs a
bicycle" first came on the scene (or at least I first heard
it) when I was in college. I first heard it from one of my
female friends, at which time another of my female friends
replied, "Yes, but sometimes a fish needs a bicycle." :-)

Good for the second friend, nice comeback. I don't remember the
specifics, but the original quote was from one of the leading feminists at the
time - one who also happened to be lesbian. Another similar quote from such a
person is that "all sex is rape for the woman, even sex in marriage".
*eyeroll*

In this subject area there is a large amount of heterogeniety amongst women.
