It's a bittersweet day in Dearborn.
How many of those actually got what they were promised? At one former employer, buyout offers for long-term employers were made one year and several accepted. Only after they signed all the papers did they find out that what they believed they were told wasn't what they got, leading to a few disputes, some of which may have gone to court.

I'd advise anyone about to sign a buyout to spend a lot of time searching out ANY history of prior buyouts for dirty-tricks, renigs, lies, backstabs, double-crosses, the whole enchilada.
Having read enough books about BS pulled off by management on underlings, I'd have to put everything under a magnifying glass.
