Which undergrad EE courses did you take, before the 2nd masters?
(Besides the service courses on electronics and control theory,
previously mentioned in another post).

I needed to take a power electronics course for my second master's degree
but, before I could do that, I needed to know how a thyristor worked, which
required that I take courses in electronic devices.

Did the masters require a written prelim/comp exam? (ie. An 8 hour
exam covering most of undergrad and/or the first year masters
courses).

I've heard that many masters degrees don't have prelim/comp exams. It
seems to be more common in phd programs in science and engineering, as
well as other areas like economics, finance, etc ... I remember it
was largely used as a "weedout" exam for many physics and math phd
programs.
