Re: schools banning homework

I saw a documentary about Mensa on "The Fifth Estate" a few years ago. I
thought it terribly biased, portraying Mensa as a club of socially inept
eccentrics.

Most documentaries and news segments about Mensa I've seen over the
years, did not exactly portray the organization in a very flattering
light. Besides the portrayal of members being geekish, socially
inept, eccentric, etc ..., I got the impression many of the shows also
went out of their way to make Mensa members look stupid or silly, by
asking many "trick questions" and "gotcha" type of questions to random
members.

Or they can get away with saying certain things. This NG got quite wild
and wooly at times in the last year or two.

Most of the unmoderated physics and math newsgroups have been like
that too for a long time. Tons of crackpots and generally stupid
posts. A complete waste of time.
