Re: Research Statement

Hi All,

Is everyone here a PHD or ABD looking for a research/teaching
position?:)

No, some of us are working scientists, some are engineers,
some are retired versions of the above.

I'm new here and just trying to check things up...

Welcome.

OK, just
a question about research statement that we have to write to apply a
facutly/postdoc position.

Is it really necessary to state what specific grant proposal you might
submit and what funding source to seek in your research statement? I do
not really have an exact plan of a proposal in my mind except
continuing my current research as I'm still just a PHD student and have
just barely done enough research for graduation. Do I really have to
make up something for this or saying something in general is
acceptable?

Thanks.
Oliver

In addition to Brian's response, you'll probaby get useful

Good luck.
