Why don't they connect that observation with the jobs that
are offshored
in this "brilliant" idea that globalization is all good for
us?

A local TV station was running a piece on the news tonight
about the local "brain drain", young professionals leaving
the area due to lack of job opportunities. A politician is
running campaign ads about how he had to leave after
college but came back, and now fights to increase jobs
and votes against taxes. I guess people around here are
worried about jobs.

There is very little career motivation for a person to get a
degree in professions currently being offshored to india for 5
dollars an hour thats for sure.
Prior to this offshoring mess the US was graduating only 4% in
S and E.. Much of the engineering part of that stat will now
dissapear. additionally if a firm does want to hire an
american engineer, there are hundreds of thousands of us out
of work now, with decades of experience...being offered union
grocery clerk money if we get an offer at all.... why would an
employer seek a new graduate with no experience.... answer..
they dont.
the new grads and a small army of the old grads are driving
cabs, selling real estate or working for Home depot...
The nation is killing the motivation to become educated in the
sciences and suceed ... that is devastating the nation, and
destroying the very seed bed of intelectual capitol we need to
be viable in world markets.
Just two years ago the propaganda was...'the US will always
have the research and develpment, only the low end work goes
off shore' etc. Now the R and D is going off shore....the
talent that does the R and D is developed via experience in
manufacturing.
This nation is run by rip off artists, blithering idiots and
posers... these are decimating our core competencies and
giving those skills and incentives over to those who in
actuality are fast bcoming our competitors... while starving
their own populations do death... our leaders now expect us
to compete on that playing field.
Idiots.... they are starving out their own tax base.
