So, if 3D wants to brag about his ChE BS student getting $60K/year job offers (but what
about the "C" students, what about the flunk outs and drop outs?), and a four year
program that most guys are not going to be able to do, then I can point out some easier
options for less time that will get the bills paid and you can "have a life" and maybe even
be more immune to age-discrimination problems down the road.
Nevermind the 'C' students, how about the 'B' ones in ChemE? Even
they're struggling to get those sales support jobs at a cell filtration
company.
You might want to know but both pharmacy (PharmD) and PA programs
accept applicants from associates degree programs so that's not a bad
way for someone who can get B/B+'s in his coursework to try for as a
post-AA degree related career track. Last I'd checked, near ~100% of
pharmacy and PA grads have employment. My belief is that most of those
struggling in entry level biopharma work, lab, QC/QA, or pilot plant,
can do well in these aforementioned healthcare tracks.
Yes, and I wish I saved that article-reference now on all the guys who finished BS degree programs, could not find a job, and went on for a 2 year associate degree.
Higher education seems to be a 21st century "mechanism" to mostly waste
money and keep kids off the street a little longer.
