Wouldn't it be funny if Toyota bought GM? Then just shut it down and wrote it off the books, then make Toyotas in the GM factories with new Toyota signs fastened over the GM signs?
That's not so far-fetched. Remember what happened to American Motors twenty years ago?
I recall they went out of business, too, but did someone buy them?
It could be the old scam "buy assets to write them off" which means if they bought at half of what the assets were worth, then they buy double the write off. All a tax dodge.
