In Australia, I have seen the low-prestige universities provided one of
the best employabilities to their BSc/MSc graduates in biosciences. The
reason is that BSc/MSc holders are employed to do routine work (e.g. as
research assistant). They are not required to think. Those low-prestige
universities are known for giving a good training to their graduates in
using the equipment/techniques (as opposed to "education" given in the
sandstone ["Ivy League"] universities). They do not require/expect a
high starting salary. Hiring graduates from such universities is the
way for employers to go !
