Hi Germs,

It's obvious (to me) that you are a young scientist with a problem that
this newsgroup took very lightly.

Dear Dave, why is it so obvious that this is a scientist? My trace backs indicated otherwise. I am going to repost your question on
the AAAS Science Careers Discussion Forum right now,

I would ask you to refrain from reposting my comments on this forum in your own. To do this without my permission seems unprofessional and somehow unethical. When you did this you really annoyed me and I wrote some things on this forum late at night and not thinking too too well, that I would like to take back.

and I am sure
you'll get some responses from people who genuinely want to help. The
feedback you had here was more than a bit telling about the intent of
this group to simply poke fun and alienate people who come with a
sincere interest in discussing a career roadblock. Please check out the
AAAS site, at www.sciencecareers.org, and click on the forum link.

I sincerely doubt that there is a real person behind this post (germs? and the poster never came back..please not that even on your website Val stated that the original poster was in another disciple, or so it seemed. still it is possible the person had a real issue...

And I dont like the way you take these things out of context and without printing my followups or the whole commentary or the whole threads.. Sure I said kill all the recruiters, but you are in good company with all the lawyers. which you fail to put in your reposts. ..

There is your forum which I take seriously , and this one which I come
to play.. dont confuse things by posting the crap here that I write
or others write with a more serious forum.

Thanks in advance,

Chris Larosa.

Although I am not inclined to visit Dave's website, I wouldn't mind if someone from here, src, would go over there and see what is going on regarding this (especially Dave's own anticipation that the OP will get a more serious/appropriate/whatever response over there, although it might be actually possible for Dave, himself, to generate--aka "reverse agent provocateur" style--that appropriate response.) and then tell us, here, that Mr. Shy really got some "better" ideas.

However, being that _we_ here have a default complete freestyle "permission" to post anything freewheeling that we want, and _they_ all know (at least I would think that they should know) that they will be
under scrutiny and censorship (and anyone paying attention to the traffic there might notice "no funny stuff" and have a built-in inhibition against expressing any "wildness", Dave really can't say his website is intrinsically better than our maximum freedom forum here.
