Shagdog, are you getting into senile marasm or what ? I agree with
almost everything what Kamal says, and I agree with everything what he
said in the previous posting. Firstly, your tirade about Indians being
no better than anyone else. Did kamal said anywhere that Indians on
average are better than people of any other nationality ?? No.

And I completely agree with his point of view -- just raise the
standard of a PhD, so that only few would be able to receive it, and
there will be enough of job for _all_ applicants with PhDs. There would
be advertised jobs for PhD holders which would attract zero
applications. Just what you advocate. (It is the other matter that the
country with the "free attitude" such as the US will never allow this
to happen. There, the rule is: "If you want a PhD, here is one for you,
no sweat". Let the market determine the real value of one's PhD.
However, for example, in the SU, it was hard to obtain a PhD, and only
small fraction of those who aspired to get a PhD got one. The PhDs were
very coveted in the society, and financially were a good proposition,
too; the government paid you a bonus on top of your salary just for the
fact of holding a PhD, which was roughly of the same amount as one's
salary.)

P.S. I must apologise for playing with your name; but I could not help
myself :-) . Furthermore, I have to apologise for suggesting that you
were a senile marasmatic. It was just a hyperbola, without the intent
to offend.
