Indeed! Statistical correlations can barely even be said to *suggest*
causation.
Coincidental relationships are common while cause/effect relationships are
rare.

Because the abuse is so popular - I suggest Excel needs a pop up dialog box
disclaimer whenever someone touches one of it's built in statistical
functions.

Or, perhaps -

Spread*** software should be completely forbidden to social scientists,
economists, and politicians :-)
