Psychiatry is not a science, it is medicine. Psychology is a
science, and clinical psychology is only one application of the
science of psychology

That was a lot like picking fly.*** out of pepper

You may think that your experience informs the current debate, and I am sure that picking fly *** out of paper is one of your hobbies. Science is a lot different.

No discipline that anchors itself on speculative juju

Substantive material to back up your point, kook? I thought not.

can be called a science skill

You betray your ignorance, grandma. Psychology is an empirical discipline based on, among other things, neuropsychology, psychopharmacology, neurophysiology, psychophysics, behavioural psychology <mug up on 'levels of explanation' and psychological methodology 101>... ...and the serial vs parallel processing experiments of <e.g.> Sternberg were a paragon of scientific elegance and ingenuity. It is difficult to see how much better the molecular sciences could be, when I consider the analogue in them of 'observing' particles in a moisture chamber.

Speaking of which, as someone trained in the science of molecular neurobiology <and you will know all about confirmational changes, won't you kook?> I see in you the same naive faith and believe in the supposedly unfailing 'hard' sciences. All the while you overlook the crisis that has loomed over the sciences since first noted by Alfred North Whitehead, Husserl and others. This prevails even now, with the failure of grand unified theory and the false promise of string theory and superstring theory. Any day now they claim that we will have a 'theory of everything'. It's a good thing that naive falsificationism doesn't prevail here, or it would have been chopped off.

Ah, but this is over your tiny pointy head, isn't it Madame Poodle? The fact that psychiatry has followed psychology on the matter of evidence based practise is something denied your vile, tiny 'consciousness'.

FYI the main branches of psychology include clinical, forensic and occupational; there is a heavy emphasis on psychometrics in the professional disciplines, but I don't expect you to understand just this alone, never mind the science of factor analysis. Bah, why I waste my time except perhaps to remind you of how limited and stupid you are....

....you'll avoid the issue of course, and do the pointy headed ad hominem thing, rather than the scientific thing, and thank you for that; it shows you for the vile creature that you are, and makes very clear that you don't belong here.

Scientifically they are all equally a humbug

This from the man who claimed Helmholtz was gay, as if this had any impact on the matter of truth. You show your ignorance of epistemology and science in general. You wouldn't know science <i.e., method + knowledge derived therefrom> if it bit you on your arse, you poseur. The best you can do is spew out what Google gives you.

Now piss off back to your disease group, gummy poodle. Or die.

Oh, I am OTR again poodle, so don't expect a reply. Bob around like a cork in my wake, kook, I urge you.
