her by a title that is reserved for medical doctors?

Outside of journals it is appropriate to refer to people with a Ph.D
IIF Packer becomes a Television Entertainer, then you may refer to her
as a Dr.--- for entertainment purposes only.
Until then, it's dishonest and deceitful of you to refer to her using
a title reserved for medical doctors.
Doctor is a word.
Dr. is a *title* reserved for medical doctors.
Therefore, you are perpetrating a deception/fraud by misusing the
title Dr in written references to usenet authors who failed to earn
that title legitimately by getting themselves a real MD.
