I calculated that this coil is 40 cm in diameter and very heavy so only
suitable for power stations where a 3 phase version could be used with three
coils in a star connection and the frequency and phase electronically
controlled as now in power stations where even bigger coils could be used
and the hydrogen fed through continuously from a bigger cylinder.
The lighter coils where RF is used can be used in the home with an
iductively coupled rectifier and inverter. The valve is only used to start
it and high power versions could be used on aircraft and cars.

I suggest you to have built a prototype thermonuclear reactor running at 50
Hz. It is an air cored coil 90mm long by 26 mm inside diameter to take a
Pyrex tube (100 mm x 25 mm diameter) containing hydrogen at 2 Tor wound
with 6365 Turns of 16 SWG enamelled copper wire tuned with a 33 µF
capacitor with a 0.1 - 1 µF variable trimmer capacitor. The current in this
coil is about 4 Amp AC and the potential across the capacitor up to 1800
volt AC. This is the secondary winding. There is a primary winding of 25
turns 8 SWG to connect to the mains through a switch and a variable
transformer to take 20 Amp.

Domestic Fusion Generator:
I suggest you have built a prototype thermonuclear reactor running at 50
Hz. It is an air cored coil 90mm long by 26 mm inside diameter to take a
Pyrex tube (100 mm x 25 mm diameter) containing hydrogen at 2 Tor wound
with 6365 Turns of 22 SWG enamelled copper wire tuned with a 33 µF
capacitor with a 0.1 - 1.1 µF variable trimmer capacitor. The current in
this coil is about 0.25 Amp AC and the potential across the capacitor up
to 254,600 volt AC. This is the secondary winding. There is a primary
winding of 25 turns 8 SWG to connect to the mains through a switch and a
variable transformer to take 20 Amp.
When the mains is on low power controlled by the variable transformer the
circuit is tuned to resonance with the trimmer as detected by a voltmeter
connected to another smaller winding of 2 turns round the coil.
There should be a gap of 0.5 cm between the primary and secondary and the
primary is wound over the secondary so it is loosely coupled.
A spark gap with an adjustable gap distance is connected across the
secondary to limit the power. This could be replaced with another
suitable device like a high pressure neon tube or semiconductor like that
is used as a lighting arrestor.
A 1 ohm 5000 watt resistor may be switched across the coil to turn it
off.
During operation the Pyrex tube of hydrogen is placed inside the coil.
The mains is turned on and the power delivered increased until the
hydrogen ionises and then until it makes power. Once the power in makes
is equal or greater than the input power the device will self oscillate
and yield net power in which case the mains will be switched off. Output
potential stability could be achieved using the variable transformer and
the frequency adjusted with the trimmer.
The start up power could be achieved using normal inverter technology
with a 12 volt car battery as the initial power source instead of using
the mains. In order to do this an additional 12 volt winding would be
needed. This would have only have 1 turn with 450 amp wire. I do not
think semiconductors exist for that current capacity so an interrupter
will be needed.
While I cannot be sure of success that is my design for a domestic
thermonuclear reactor to supply a household.
I believe that America uses a 60 Hz mains supply so a slight alteration
to the value of the tuning capacitor needs to be made (the capacitor
needs to be 23 µF) for the American market.
The unit should be shielded with thick expanded polystyrene. This works
by compton scattering as carbon is a moderator.
This design will yield 5 KW. For a typical home or car 20 KW would be
needed and so the design would need heavier current capacity and possibly
higher potentials.
I am not certain that it will work but it is designed in the light of
experience and I think it will.
If it tests successful you could sell them after satisfying government
regulations.
