ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor ? )



That is what the FAQ says, and that's also what I,ve learned when I studied
physic. (@ DTU in DK)

It says something else at the homepage of ITER:

http://www.iter.org/index.htm

It says:

" ITER (pronounced as in "fitter") means "the way" in Latin."

Why these two different explanations?
