Dang, did I just wake up in 1979? I don't feel like I am 23 again.

History repeats.

Make sure that you have sufficient helicopters this time.

this isn't our problem.
reports I've seen just say it was a smash& dash and all Brits are
accounted for.

The Brits should send their hoodlums and hooligans to trash the
Iranian Embassy.

Nah. Not our style. However sending said hooligans to trash the
Iranian capital is.

I suspect the Iranians were after compromising documents. They did
something similar to the British Embassy last time.

As for being students - the ones in the TV pictures look alot older
than 18.

It is beginning to look like Iran will have to be searched for nuclear
weapon factories at gun point. Also look for signs of chemical
warfare.
Time to remind the Russians that as part of the price for being
allowed nukes they also have to police the non-nuke countries.

Andrew Swallow

the Russians are "allowed" nukes? by who?

By the world since 1968 under the terms of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation
Treaty
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_Non-Proliferation_Treaty

who's going to take them away?

Russia - no one.

Iran - the USA, Britain and anyone else who can be persuaded to help.

BTW,the Russian are getting pushy and aggressive, too.
Now they are threatening to place missiles in Kalinin oblast,to threaten
any ABM installation in Czech republic and Poland.

This is to be expected when the West is weak,or acts weakly.

Andrew Swallow

The NPT does NOT "allow" nuclear armed nations to have nuclear weapons.
It RECOGNIZES that they already have them.
Russia already HAD nukes by the time the treaty was put together.

Russia was NOT going to give them up,just as the US would not.
there's no "permission" in the NPT.

the NPT was to prevent MORE nations from building them, and to
monitor/control the fissionables from peaceful power reactors.
