Got any data on the range of these gizmos? Anything under 1000 miles

Nope, just the info in that article. Even if the range was under 1000
miles,
wouldn't it still be useful for communicating between subs and/or
surface
ships for better coordination?

If this tech can be used to communicate with subs, could it also be
adapted for sub detection?

I was once tasked with looking into the idea of using neutrinos for
communications with submarines. The response was an antenna with a
volume of 10,000 cubic kilometers was needed. The laser idea is just
as loony. Look at any device that uses a laser. The laser signature is
a dot, at a 1000 miles that dot is multiple miles wide and less dense
in proportion. You don't get a return signal so what are your chances
of hitting a 10,000 square foot target at 1000 miles?
