I know of them - but they didn't get to happen, did they? Their

Actually they were cancelled as USAF would rather spend the money on
Vietnam. Not to mention SAC. Spaceflight wasn't popular back then.
Budget pressures, you start spending on what you know and what you
have proponents for. Space was associated with space cadets back then.
Let NASA do it.
To put it mildly - you not only haven't a clue what you are talking
about, you haven't even been in the general vicinity of a clue for at
least a decade.

Recall they were dragged kicking and screaming to get on board for the
Shuttle. They spent billions on SLC-6 at Vandenburg and mothballed it
for a lot of reasons. After everybody got paid of course.
The DoD's reluctance with getting involved with the Shuttle was based
on a large number of factors - but being afraid of being labled 'space
cadets' or spending on what they didn't know were precisely none of
them.
