No and No!
That would seem to be self-evident from the fact that the
sabot separates the projectile from the barrel.
Although (depending on how your "musing" is 'twisting') OTTOMH -I seem to recall some cases of projectiles from smoothbore and/or shotguns (remember the wadding!) being linked (not 100%, but moderate to high probability) to a specific weapon.
