Aw' c'mon Tom. Still sore over that debate we had on Sovereign Debt?
I told you the US couldn't just refute her debt paper and that China
won't dump her holdings and trash the USD. I also told you that every
country that once bought US debt unthinkingly will henceforth seek
other avenues to invest their earnings and away from the USD. The USD
was heading south when we last had that exchange. Didn't figure that
everything I had said would be proven so precisely so soon.

By the way do discard those stereotypes of wise old Chinese guys. The
ones you may have met are too polite to tell you what they really
think of you or tell you much about themselves. It is impolite and
they are not going to meet you ever again. Try negotiating with a
real successful Chinaman in China. Or better still go meet young
university students in China. They won't yield a single point to you
just because you are American.

Congratulation to your nephew for winning a nice Beijing girl. Do let
us know along the way if she becomes more American or he converted to
"Chinese." Nothing sinister on my part. Just curiosity on how
cultural strengths play out.
