Consider how difficult Amadou Diallo was to kill. The NYPD had to shoot him 41 times! Just imagine if they'd only shot him forty times: he'd have just walked away unbothered and we'd never have heard of him.
"Difficult to sink" != "difficult to reduce to a floating tomb of no combat value whatsoever". How many hits did it take to take away Yamato / Musashi's ability to fight effectively?.
