Hi,
If Turkey invades Iraq to solve the PKK problem, we can forget about a
unified Iraq. Instead it will be a partition Iraq, possible three
countries if it continues over 3 years with the Kurish area being a
Turkish client state, a Shia Iraqi state, and a Sunni Iraq state. The
result would that Al-queda would be able to operate with greater
freedom. In addition, a three state fiefdom in the middle east would
relate to greater energy instability along with more suffering of the
people living there. So, what some believed was a good mission in
2003, would be that they helped pave the path to despotism with good
intentions.

I think your doomsday view is a bit overblown. Turkey Wants a stable
border. Not a take over of the Kurdish region or to upset the apple cart
in Iraq. The partition thing is a non starter. Who wants to be the group
that gets the crappy parts with no water or oil?? I would be more
concerned about a divied Belgium right now.
Have they found oil in Belgium? Who really cares, other than
Belgians, whether Belgium is one....or a hundred...separate countries?
