There hasn't been a single attack in CONUS since 9-11, hasn't there? You don't negotiate
with AQ by sitting them down to tea and cookies and talking things out; you do your
negotiations with a DELTA or SEAL trooper with one foot on the other guy's chest, another
on the neck, and an MP-5 in his face, before shipping his sorry self to Gitmo and joining
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the other "high-value" AQ in the pokey. Treating AQ like
common criminals didn't work. Treating them as national security threats on par with hostile
nation-states does.
The goal should be unapolegetic destruction of jihadis, a la
the Royal Navy's extermination of pirates that ended "the golden age" back in the 18th
Century. And if groups like Amnesty Crapnational shed tears for dead or imprisoned
terrorists, well, that's their problem.
