I wonder, if this actually happened, would it be best to beef up thewhy
existing AD divisions (1st, 2nd , 3rd) and the 4th reserve, or possibly
not send a real signal and reactivate the 5th, which after all was also
reactivated in the Vietnam War. Worth pointing out the 26th Marines did
yeoman service at Khe Sanh, and it would send chills up *my* spine if that
division was operating again.
Although I do hold allegiance with the 2nd MarDiv. :-)

The trend has been to increase deployed regiments to four battalions.
The 4th Marines were split up among three other regiments. They had
disbanded the 9th Marines to make the three LAAV battalions. Lately
they disbanded the special anti-terrorism battalion and some other
battalions to start rebuiding the 9th Marines.
