May had no way of knowing Japanese capability when he made the
comment.

He knew they were setting their fuses at 200' and US subs were capable
of operating below that.


I see no point in discussing this further. We agree that the leak
was reprehensible and that the observations of the submariners
were accurate.

Ok, It seems I misunderstood you. I was under the impression you did
not beliee either of those.

I have nothing further to show (except that I
could dig into more references saying the same thing), we might
as well agree to disagree.
