ORIENT QUEEN In Rescue Mission
July 17: 1968-built ORIENT QUEEN (ex BOLERO, STARWARD) has been
chartered by the U.S. government to evacuate Americans from Lebanon.
ORIENT QUEEN, owned by Lebanese company Abou Merhi Cruises will take
the Americans trapped by the recent cross boarder fighting between
Israel and Lebanon, to Cyprus. ORIENT QUEEN is expected in Beirut
tomorrow and will be escorted by U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer,
the USS GONZALEZ.
