At least it wasn't a training film, with one of them getting "the
disease." There was a thing on AMC some time back about Hollywood and
WW2, and they had a guy who was in one of those talking. He said he had
ended up with the role of the guy who "takes precautions" and ends up
alright at the end, because a friend volunteered to take the role of
the pilot who "wasn't careful" and ended up having problems (I think
they had him crashing his plane at the end or something.) He said he
felt sorry for his friend because quite a few times, when he walked
into bars, some GI or another would recognize him, point at him, and
say "Hey! There's the guy who got the clap!"
