Navy surgeon decorated for submarine rescue
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-2249187,00.html

{EXCERPT} Times Online, UK A Royal Navy surgeon has been given
the
highest award for bravery by the Order of St John today for
saving
the
lives of Canadian sailors on board a stricken......

The 'Times has included the bog-standard Anglican-bias by
claiming
that the
UK's 'Order of St John' is related to the organisation founded in
the tenth
century.
The current UK's 'Order of St John', and its affiliates in the
Anglo-phone
world is an Anglican organisation contemporaneous with
Anglicanism's
'Oxford
Revival' and has adopted the trappings of the Sovereign Order of
Malta (aka
Knights of St John).
AFIAK, the Sovereign Order refers to the Anglican organisation as
'self-styled'.

These are the citations for the two Canadians mentioned in the
article:

Andrew; is the "Meritorious Service Cross (military division)" a
Canadian
or a (UK) 'Order of St John' award?

Neither; it is a Canadian honour, awarded by the Queen and gazetted in
the Canada Gazette by the Chancellery (but presented on the Queen's
behalf by the Governor General).
