Please indulge me a non-naval military digression as this amused me andsnipped>
I'm sure it could be rehashed into an American or naval version for
passing along ...
Dear Mum & Dad,
I can't complain about the Army - tell the boys to get in quickThanks Sarah, fortunately I read that before pouting the early morning cup
before word gets around how bloody good it is.
Your loving daughter,

of coffee.
"Laura" reminds me far too much of myself.
You properly identified the content of your post as "humor" in the
title. This is important in sci.military.naval as many of the "guest"
posters imagine themselves to be reincarnations of George S. Patton, as
he considered himself a reincarnation of a Roman legionaire. Therefore
the only "funny" event that they can identify with and find humor in is
the place where George C. Scott, playing Patton, slapped the soldier
lying a hospital bed.
