I'm wondering whether he isn't confusing Renown with the RFA Resource, which
is (was?) an ammunition supply ship and which was stationed well to the east
of the Falklands for obvious reasons. She was rumoured to be equipped for
the transport of nuclear weapons (eg depth charges) but it is unlikely she
would have been carrying any at that time.

100 year rule would apply, but there would be no reason to consider it,
Argentina was not a nuclear power. They did have one nuclear power station
at San Nicolas and were contemplating building another at Chocon but that was
all.
