You have a 1D difference between the eyes so that without glasses one
eye is blurrier than the other, with glasses both are equally clear.
So there is better balance and better comfort with glasses. Without
glasses, all objects further than about 2ft away from you are blurry,
with glasses you can see clearly to all distances so again, comfort is
better.

Dr Judy, thank you for your reply. Is comfort alone a reason to wear glasses?
I can still see without them but get a strong straining feeling in the eye
that is weaker. Sounds maybe a strange question but I thought glasses were
prescribed to correct defective vision and only those with very bad sight
would wear them very much.
