I have a bit of advertising from Perle Vision touting EasyView lenses. The

(No ***! I'd never have guessed.) Anyway, goes on with self-praise, saying
the eyes focus more naturally. Nice to know after I just bought a pair of
what I assume is the old kind.
Anyway, is EasyVision really an improvement or just hype?

It depends on which brand of lens they're using (EasyViewTM is probably a house
brand name). "Digital surfacing" implies direct-to-surface free-form
manufacturing. That doesn't guarantee that these lenses will perform better than
traditional lenses, although this technology is capable of reducing aberrations
that are impossible to reduce using standard generators.
Hope this helps,
