So how do eye exercises affect macular degeneration?
Zero effect.
Take vitamins supplements containing lutein, zeaxanthine, vitamins
A,C, plus zinc and selenium. The brand names are I-caps and Ocuvite
but there are generic equivalents. High does have been clinically
proven to improve macular degeneration. Also, get frequent eye exams
and be sure your type of macular degeneration doesn't develop into the
"wet" form. There are new treatments for wet macular degeneration
that doesn't involve lasers.
Just don't waste your money on eye exercises.
Well, you forgot wearing blue blockers and keeping one's blood
pressure down and exercise. Zinc lately has come under question and
is also being investigated in AREDS2. (Actually zinc has been found
in (or promotes) drusen). The effect of lutein is in that study also
(AREDS2). Some studies say that lutein is of no value, I believe it
does. Not sure where your selenium came from.
PDT (photodynanic therapy), lasers, is coming back into vogue to
keep down the frequency of the initial monthly visits using just
Lucentis.
Besides all that, I was really curious of Beresford's answer since
his references do not relate to that area, that I could see.
