I have been replacing my RGP every year because after a while they
form a white film on the outer edge of the lens which I am not able to
clean. It bothers my vision if I blink my eye and the lens is sliding
over the eye.
Quite possibly a calcium compound depositing on your lenses. You might try
soaking in vinegar overnight and then cleaning.
Baking soda works OK with SOFT lenses but it will scratch GPs badly.
I'd mention the deposit and ask if a different material might be better, at
your next examination.
