Lupus and IOL
The tale of my cataract and IOL is posted here, so there's no need to
repeat. But ever since the surgery, along with all the other
complications, I've had an intermittent bright red facial rash only on
the implant side. I know I have lupus and told both the surgeon and
anesthesiologist about it. Could my body be trying in its own way to
reject the implant? Now, I know that I may not be using the right word,
because something that isn't living tissue can't be "rejected" in the
usual sense. Anyway, my surgeon knows about it and keeps assuring me
that it's nothing. Mind you, he's the one who said of my paralyzed
pupil, "Sometimes that happens," in an offhanded way. Oy vey! To be
