Univision C-Vues and B&L Softlens question

I thought Univision C-Vues multifocals and B&L Softlens multifocals
were the same lens. Yet when my Optometrist gave me some test lenses to
try with the same prescription I had better distance vision with the
B&L Softlens than the Univision C-Vues. Was I wrong about them being
the same lenes?
