My goodness FORTRAN! You must be older than you look! Anyway subscripts
were handled with arrays. Single subscript was A(I), double subscript
was A(I,J) and so on. Not a good way to convey equations IMHO.

Anyway, you're right to discourage html here. Please have them set their
mail to text only in their browser.
