When my nose dries out it closes on me.
The extra fluid keeps it moist and open.

Something does definitely plug up my nose Pete.
However, I discovered drinking extra water opens it.
I get up about four times each night and if I drink three swallows
of water at that time the problem doesn't occur. Go figure
Gene
Gene...are you talking about your nose being plugged up in general, or
because of taking flomax or avodart (I'm not sure). Either way, I don't
know why drinking a few swallows of water when you get up each time would
help, other than to just make you feel like you may have to pee again sooner
:-) . It's interesting though...Pete

You might also want to try Uroxatral.I had the same problems with
Hytrin and Flomax. The cure was worse than the disease, then tried
Uroxatral which is very similar to Flomax, but without the side
effects.I'm up only twice a night now with no side effects. You might
also add a little Advil at night which also helps.

Ed...Did the flomax plug up your nose. I can't take it (nor hytrin
or cardura), since alpha blockers plug my nose up completely and
immediately. Some people report just the opposite (runny nose),
which is another one of those crazy things where meds produce side
effects in both directions.
Anyway if the flomax plugged up your nose, let me know - and when
you take uroxatral, is your breathing unaffected.
