I hope your doctor explained to you that they were two totally unrelated
drugs [one designed to shrink the prostate over time (avodart) - and the
other one being a smooth muscle relaxer which works right away (flomax)].

Uro's may prescribe both at the same time, since it takes the avodart
several months to work. Is your doctor a GP or a urologist.
