Re: BPH and prostatis
Dave, for the most part it sounds like the syptoms I had when I had
prostatitis a few years ago. Another major symptom, which you do not
mention, is that I almost always felt like I needed to have a bowel
movement, but had difficulty doing so and never fully emptied out. I
think it is the swelling of the prostate against the rectum that causes
that. My GP at the time recommended 4 ejaculations per day
(seriously!) to help clear up the prostate. I was unable to achieve
that lofty rate, but I did feel better after an ejaculation (oh, and my
symptoms were reduced too). Currently, at 4 weeks post-PVP, I am
having many of the same symptoms, and am starting to wonder if the
irritation from the procedure has led to a new case of prostatitis. I
think it is just part of the normal healing process though. One
difference is that, after the PVP, when I pee, half-empty bladder or
not, middle of the night or not, I start immediately and empty
completely.
